Our lives often seem drawn along the compass curve of new technology, our days described in reaction to the everyday constant new reality dictated to us with each passing imprint of the news.  But what about the reality that silently surrounds us, can technology bring us closer to the steady companion of the universe around our shoulders?  This piece makes a path to the 'background radiation' - the so-called noise of the matter we swim in - popping and whirling and exploding all around us, every moment of every moment.

Sounds of a human voice are played back at a drastically reduced speed to bring out the higher harmonic content normally ignored if perceived at all.  Sample playback and parameter control are achieved by floating fiducial (or "fiduciary") markers on the surface of a body of water, thereby using the natural interaction of wind and water to govern the rhythm and pacing of the sonic output.
